Since the publication of my first book, HR Management in the Forensic Science Laboratory in 2018, my writing efforts have emphasized the unique leadership challenges and opportunities that exist within our criminal justice system.

The exercise of leadership in authoritative, high-responsibility occupations comes with dangerous temptations that quickly destroy even the most cohesive teams if decision-makers and influencers are not aware of them.

In this regard, The New Superior, was written to explore and expose those temptations. It chronicles the ongoing battle between a high-stakes leader’s natural human impulses and the intentional principle-driven presence that all successful leaders can and must cultivate if they are to succeed.
